What Should a Church Post on Facebook Each Week?

A manageable church content plan helps people participate, understand your work and find useful information. Start with a small number of purposeful posts that your team can prepare and review consistently.

Use three simple content themes

An announcement explains what is happening and how to join. A helpful post answers a common question or shares a practical resource. A community update explains recent work without exposing private circumstances. These themes give your team variety without requiring a new idea every day.

Write one clear action per post

A notice should include confirmed date, time, format and an appropriate contact route. Keep the main message in the post text rather than hiding essential details inside an image. Use a descriptive link or invitation such as ‘Ask about the training’ instead of several competing actions.

Prepare a realistic weekly routine

For example, prepare next week’s announcement on Monday, a useful question-and-answer post midweek, and an approved community update near the weekend. This is a suggested working rhythm, not an algorithm rule. Publish less often if that allows you to be accurate and responsive.

Agree approval and image permissions

Before scheduling, have a responsible person check names, dates, wording and permission to use photographs. Avoid publishing personal prayer requests, contact details or sensitive stories without explicit permission. Keep account access organised and use the platform’s available security controls.

Look beyond follower counts

Review the enquiries, useful conversations and participation generated by each post. Note recurring questions and turn them into next month’s content. Stop repeating formats that confuse people, and keep a record of what your audience finds helpful.
