A useful website answers practical questions before it asks visitors to act. For a church, school, ministry or community organisation, start with a clear explanation of your purpose, current activities and a dependable way to enquire.
Home should explain who you help and the next step. About should describe your purpose and real team. Activities or Services should explain what is available, where appropriate. News should contain current updates. Contact should make it easy to ask a question. Combine pages when there is not enough useful content to justify separate ones.
For every programme, state who it is for, what happens, the format, any confirmed cost and how someone expresses interest. If a programme is still being developed, say so. Do not imply that registration guarantees a place or that an unconfirmed programme has already launched.
Use readable text, descriptive buttons and a short form. Ask only for information needed to respond. If you offer WhatsApp or telephone contact, confirm who handles it and when. Test links yourself; a beautifully designed contact section is ineffective if its destination is wrong.
Choose relevant images with permission, meaningful alt text and sensible file sizes. Distinguish illustrative imagery from photographs of actual programmes. Publish real results only when verified; avoid invented statistics and testimonials. Give a team member responsibility for keeping information current.
Check spelling, navigation, mobile layouts, image loading, forms, privacy information and any download links. Ask someone unfamiliar with the organisation to find a programme and send an enquiry. Their difficulty is useful feedback: improve the route before adding decorative features.
